The staff were absolutely lovely and very accommodating to our puppy Bonnie! She loved having a chopped up bit of sausage for her breakfast every morning, with the added treat here and there from the reception ladies. The grounds were also wonderful to walk round, such a beautiful view of the river tweed. The cleaning staff made our room lovely for us every morning too, it was lovely to have fresh sheets every day.

Needed more staff to replenish buffet area when things ran out which seemed to happen each day. No brown bread one day as not thawed. Should be better than frozen supermarket bread. Staff to be complimented for willingness to help but do need someone to oversee busy breakfast time. Food was good but sometimes a long delay. Not a problem for us as we were in no hurry but could be for others. Overall young staff did well and very pleasant and worked their socks off.

We've been visiting the "House" for over 50 years and this old, but still good, hotel is in a lovely location. Breakfasts were good, the staff worked hard and were very pleasant and helpful. Parking was good & the EV chargers worked well. High quality food at dinner.

Location is perfect with beautiful surroundings and gardens. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice and good quality. Loved the artwork and pictures on the walls. Loved the furniture ( not in our room ). Lovely deep bath

Beautiful location with large grounds while still being walking distance to town centre, spacious room and bathroom, smart TV in the room was a pleasant surprise . The lounge area feels very special. Nice to have breakfast included in the price.

A very special place to stay in an interesting and historic town. Not for folks who prefer modern decor and modern facilities!. Our attic room was comfortable and had a partial view of the river. We liked the table and chairs by the window. The hotel had wonderful paintings and furniture, a comfortable lounge for residents, and a stunning riverside garden .Like a small stately home! Friendly staff and excellent breakfast, where service was perfect.

Plenty of parking good location and PET Friendly with side room for bfast that could take the dog into. Bfast was hit and miss, Friday's was beautiful, well presented and order taken at the table along with great service from the Duty Receptionist, Saturday was hit and miss and done Buffet Style (disappointed as was looking forward to Eggs Benedict again) Large bathroom, bath with shower over and Room situated on top floor (2 flights of stairs up and no lift), large room with good sized bed along with tea and coffee making facilities.

Nice old traditional hotel close to Kelso market square. Has a Victorian quality to it, lounges with open fires, old wooden wardrobes etc. next to the river with nice gardens so it would be lovely in Summer. Staff helpful as usual, breakfast was decent served in a large room with river/garden views. Bar area was ok decent choice of drinks on offer. Location is spot on, close to all the town amenities. (excellent if pricy butcher over the road) Room was large, bed comfy and bathroom well equipped. Ample parking. Overall it was a good choice and we'd stay again.

Lovely host Maggy greeted us with a big smile, helped us through our reservation, and showed us our way through the Hotel. EV charging is provided at the hotel, so we could start our trip on the next day with fully charged cars. Breakfast was ok but not great. Dinner was delicious. The house is an old mansion re-done as a hotel. It´s old but it has charm. If you want a quiet stay with some flair...go for it.
